Outfit details: Rag & Bone pleated silk raglan, Lululemon black shorts, Balenciaga cork platforms, Chanel bag
I think I've worn this Rag & Bone raglan almost every other day since I bought it a few weeks ago. I love how a piece of clothing can be so completely perfect for you and once you've been united you never want separate. Several of my recent wardrobe additions that I feel that way about are from Rag & Bone - the boys over there are just getting it so right. I can't wait for the fall '10 collection to hit stores in July!
I took these photos outside of the Paul Smith store on Melrose yesterday after leaving Decades feeling a bit overwhelmed by their impeccably edited collection of vintage. Seeing such beautiful clothing and accessories gives me just a little reminder that I really love being a part of this industry.
The best way to start any morning. I'm so happy that the boy has introduced me to the amazingness that is the açaí bowl - organic açaí, guarana, banana and apple juice blend topped with a sliced banana, organic omega-3 granola, and a light drizzle of honey. I think this might be true love at first bite.
I'm in the car on the way to San Diego - first time doing a blog post on the boy's awesome iPad. I didn't really want one in the beginning but now being exposed to how cool it is, I secretly really want one. Adding it to my seemingly never ending wish list.
My first day back in California was a great success - healthy breakfast of an acai bowl at Juice It Up (why have I waited this long to have an acai bowl?!), early bird splurge on a mani/pedi (hello red nails!), pit stop at South Coast Plaza, breezy drive to LA with the boy listening to funny songs on the radio, late lunch at Street, wandering around Melrose, random thrist-quench stop at Urth Caffé, browsing the spring shoe sales in Beverly Hills, amazing dinner with the boy at Melisse to start off my weekend birthday celebration. I'm off to bed but there are many great food posts to come!
p.s. thank you to maria for recommending the green tea blended boba drink at Urth - I was all smiles gulping it down!
This past weekend, the boy and I decided to take advantage of the amazing warm weather and went down to Brooklyn to visit the Botanical Gardens. It's such a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon and is so huge you could spend hours there, enjoying the scenery and beautiful plant life around you. I have to admit though I think I spent several hours there because I had to stop every five seconds to stare at a tree I've never seen before or chase after a butterfly with my camera.

This weeping beech and I - it was love at first sight. The sight of this tree and to be inside of it is really like something out of what I imagine Pandora to be like in person. Or maybe Fangorn forest... Either way it radiated so much life and intensity that it's strange to look at it now through a photo. Sometimes certain moments are best captured through your mind and your memories.
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
no fate(for you are my fate, mysweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the rot and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
a perfect afternoon: going to golden spoon in laguna to buy a huge cup of my all time favorite peanut butter frozen yogurt/walking over to laguna beach with the boy hand in hand/finding a solid rock to sit down on to enjoy the heat of the sun, the smell of the ocean, and the rest of my peanut butter delight/letting my new all time favorite Chanel bag rest on a rock to get a little sun of its own, saying hi to a little friend who stopped by to say hello and simultaneously strike an over-the-shoulder model pose for my admiring lens/taking in the beautiful bright colors of california desert flowers/wondering how life at its most simple state can simply be the best
Tuna salad sandwich - white albacore tuna, celery, onion, tomato, olive oil, vinegar, no mayo! This was a bit on the pricey side for a sandwich but I have to admit it was really delicious and fresh.
A double stack of giant vegan oatmeal raisin cookies.
I witnessed a real difference between New Yorkers and Angelenos when I was contemplating whether or not I should attempt sitting outside at Urth Caffé in Santa Monica on a rainy afternoon. People in the city equate sitting outside to have lunch to that scene in The Wizard of Oz when the Wicked Witch of the West is melting after getting a bucket of water thrown on her. People in Los Angeles, couldn't care less. I braved the on and off rain and sat outside (when in Rome!) and luckily sat right under the perfect sized patio umbrella that shielded me from the cloudy skies but other people around me didn't fare so well. Probably one of the only days a year that a place like Urth gets more indoor seating requests than outdoors.
