Benedict Jane: poached eggs, crab and crawfish cakes, spinach, tarragon hollandaise

Roasted Shrimp “Ranchero": baked eggs, Vermont cheddar, black beans, avocado, flour tortillas, chipotle salsa

Nothing says Sunday quite like a lazy late brunch in Soho and an afternoon movie at the Angelika. The most perfect plate of fluffy, decadent french toast, Jane restaurant's version of eggs benedict made with crawfish/crabcakes in lieu of bacon, pescatarian-friendly shrimp huevos rancheros, and buttermilk biscuits with strawberry jam.

Outfit details: T by Alex Wang long sleeve mini dress, Phi skirt, Zara denim vest, Phi shoes, Chloé bag

I was so happy to finally see Coco avant Chanel - the movie was really an ambitious undertaking but the final result for me was absolutely magical. The music, the mood, the spirit of France, is even still swirling around in my head and seeing the movie left me feeling grateful for the love that I'm blessed to have in my life and for the passion that I feel every day for the industry that I'm lucky enough to work in.

Sometimes it's nice to rediscover areas of NY that are typically overrun by tourists. Amazing picnic by the water with the boy, post-meal shopping excursion and purchase of perfect Rick Owens angora scarf = labor day. (outfit details: Madewell denim shirt, H&M corset, Current Elliot shorts, studded leather Converse)

NY, I'll never stop loving you. Let's hear it for new york ♥

nanette lepore

The last show I was able to make on Wednesday, the final day of NY fashion week, was Nanette Lepore. I think out of all of the shows I went to, this one was definitely the most upbeat and after seeing all of their bright colors, prints, and patterns, I left Bryant Park feeling incredibly positive, despite the lack of sleep/dreary weather outside/workload that awaited me at my desk.

Intimidating front row: Jim Gold of Bergdorf Goodman, Ann Stordahl and Ken Downing of Neiman Marcus

Thanks to everyone who's participated in the Karen Walker Fashion Week Giveaway! It's been really fun seeing all of the photos you guys have sent me via comments. I will be picking a photo by sometime next week so feel free to submit until then!

what goes around comes around + chictopia party

Last Tuesday night after work, I headed out with the boy and my sister to the Gen ART show and What Goes Around Comes Around presentation/party before taking a very long, very confusing cab ride over to Broadway East to check out the Chictopia party. Overall it was a really fun night that lead to a slightly painful Wednesday morning, where I found myself purchasing a Red Bull for the first time in years. Sometimes coffee just doesn't cut it.

I love this store - the visual merchandising/interior is just spot on. I would definitely recommend a stop at this store if you've never been - even if their vintage pricing is a bit... over the top.

Mischa Barton and Irina Lazareanu were supposed to stop by but I didn't really want to stick around to see more crazed paparazzi. I have to say, I'm kind of camera-ed out for a while.

Stopping by Broadway East to meet up with all these amazing bloggers was definitely worth the confusing cab ride - East Broadway is admittedly a completely foreign street to me. At the party, I finally got to hang out with the adorable bloggers Stylish Wanderer, Camille, Lucrecia, and Danny Roberts - it's such a surreal experience chatting up people who you kind of feel like you already know after following their blogs for a long time.

With Camille + Stylish Wanderer

Lucrecia - love her Kate Lanphear-esque short hair!

With the incredibly talented Danny Roberts - I should've snapped a photo of his brother too!

There were so many other people I should've probably taken photos of but I guess there's always next season!

karen walker + fashion week giveaway

Karen Walker was a surprisingly fun show with great colorful prints and girly silhouettes - perfect for a summer day in the Hamptons. At the show, other than the usual suspects, I spotted Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr from WhoWhatWear.com, the absolutely stunning Hanneli Mustaparta of www.hanneli.com, and also bumped into the super cute Camille of Childhoodflames

The whole show felt like a thesis on stripes - the construction detailing of these pieces up close was really great and even though it's not in line with my own personal style, I thought the styling was done well. I especially liked all the accessories that were mixed in and the striped socks/boat shoe combo.

The Accessories

Other than seeing fashion celebs up close and personal, goodie bags are another fun perk of attending some of these shows. I thought I would try to bring some of NY Fashion Week fun to my lovely readers and do a giveaway of the Karen Walker goodie bag that I got from the show. Karen Walker tote bag contents include: Large Jurlique skin care samples, Karen Walker Eyewear catalog, "K" for Karen Walker cookie, adorable navy and gold Karen Walker metal charm bracelet, and Karen Walker keychain.
