the standard biergarten

The meatpacking district is definitely one of the best places to be in the city on a beautiful warm Sunday afternoon and is where I spent the latter half of my Easter Sunday. People watching, sitting on benches, enjoying the fragrant smell of spring, window shopping, drinking a heff at The Standard Biergarten, buying a beer pretzel twice the size of my head, perfecting the spicy mustard to pretzel ratio, watching the sunset under the High Line, standing in line at nightfall in front of the Van Leeuwen ice cream truck to get a cup of pistachio ice cream to share with a really good old friend, sitting at a picnic bench staring at the cobblestoned streets digging into the tastiest pistachio concoction I've had in my life, being reminded yet again why I ♥ New York.
