doing the denim

Saturday I went out with the bf despite the bitter cold to eat dinner in the East Village. Oh how tempting it is during these frigid nights to stay home, turn up the heat and make/drink hot chocolate. Oh wait, I do that all the time... hehe.

Here's what I wore:

Outfit details: Chloé pre-fall'08 bell-sleeve sweater, brown leather See by Chloé vest, J Brand skinny jeans, Chloé oxfords (super old from Intermix 2 years ago?)

Anyone who knows me knows that I never wear jeans. I know it's a real wardrobe staple for most people but I've always been a skirt/pant/dress person. Denim is always so restricting for some reason and I do love to wriggle freely.

Meeko gets very anxious when I take photographs and despite my adamant demands for him to get out of the way he always finds his way into the picture. I don't know why but I think he's a camera-whore and likes to be the center of attention. What being born with model-ey legs and all, he think he's meant for camera.

And this is why I love him.

Gotta love the wooden heel :)

I bought this amazing belt at Exquisite Costume, one of my favorite favorite vintage stores in Manhattan. I bumped into and talked to Sean Lennon here for a short bit that day and was left a little bit celeb-stunned haha. I mean... a Lennon? That is quite epic. Anyway, this belt instantly seemed perfect to fill the void in my life for that gold multi-chain multi-pendant necklace that I've been looking for forever. I love when you find that perfect piece that is resurrected from its original purpose and can be loved in a totally new way.

Nautical madness.

We ate at Udon West at St.Marks. This is the Sansai (mountain vegetable) udon.

The bf's curry udon.

Afterwards, we went to Pommes Frites down the street and had some delicious scrumptious belgian frites with curry ketchup and mexican ketchup. I mean really, what could be better than french fries? Haha. I'm telling you, after you have fries here, your world will change. Well, at least your view of french fries everywhere else.

We went up to Toy Toyko right next door to Pommes Frites to look at the thousands of plastic toys. I saw this insane little plastic dog/pegasus who resembled my little baby Meeko.

Totoro when it's raining.

Totoro and family. That's for you shasha
